Music game developer Harmonix says they are collaborating with rock group Green Day on a standalone Rock Band title featuring the band’s work. The game, Green Day: Rock Band, will be available on the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. “This game will feel like a natural extension of Green Day and their music that will deepen the fans’ connection to the band and their history,” said Alex Rigopulos, CEO and co-founder of Harmonix, in a statement. Harmonix did not say how many songs from the band’s eight studio albums would appear in the game. However, the developer did say all tracks from Green Day: Rock Band can be exported into either the original Rock Band or Rock Band 2, a feature absent from their last standalone project with The Beatles.
