Check out the new song from AhmniMay – Can’t Wait
Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
We are a singer/songwriter duo from Colorado Springs and realized there were limited opportunities there to start our music career. So, we decided to pack up everything we own and drive to California in the summer of 2011 to pursue our dream of making music a professional career.
Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
Can’t Wait is a slow tempo love song that was written by us and produced by LNS Entertainment. We plan on having the full song on our EP that will be releasing sometime this year. It is a very emotion-based song and it’s a very soothing to listen to. It will give you eargasms!
Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
Feeling the pressure of having to fit a certain criteria or image to have success in the music industry. We would rather embrace individuality than try to fit in a box of what is expected of us and how we should be/act in our music career.
What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
Having some financial difficulties while trying to pursue music at the same time. It can be very challenging to maintain a regular job while trying to transition into working as a full time artist. We have overcome these setbacks by having a plan and staying mentally balanced to keep from becoming overwhelmed.
What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Distractions from your initial goals and comparing yourself to or competing with other artists.
What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Avoid people that will tell you how to present yourself in the industry and stay true to yourself and the image you want to portray. Stay focused and keep going no matter what challenges come your way. Stay positive and surround yourself with people that are just as driven as you are. Always remember why you continue to pursue your career so that you don’t lose yourself or become easily discouraged.
What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
Posting videos on YouTube and Reverbnation are both very helpful in promoting our music. Our favorite way of promoting is performing at shows because we can share our music face to face with our fans and interact with the crowd.
