Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
CROWNandASANTE are both originally from Poughkeepsie, NY.  Music has surrounded our lives as our father was a musician.  Together, we formed a duo and use our creative thoughts to make music each of us can relate to.  Networking on the internet as well as asking others to help SPREAD the SOUND has gotten us to the position we are now at.

Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
Our song, “Hello” was written by CROWNandASANTE.  Steven Hero Productions mixed and mastered the track.  This song will be on the EP we are finalizing.  It has gotten a lot of attention on our youtube channel.  We believe that this song has a very catchy hook and a beat that can get everybody dancing.

What are you currently working on and what can we expect to see?
CROWNandASANTE are always staying busy.  We are currently working on releasing our first EP and constantly are working to get singles up on our youtube channel.  In the next coming weeks, we are looking to step aside for a moment and complete a full mixtape for early 2012.

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
First off, the hardest thing within the industry is simply being heard.  Secondly, staying focused and working through the obstacles.  Lastly, coming up with the finances for this costly journey.

What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
As of today, we can honestly and maybe luckily say we haven’t had any true setbacks in our career.  We hope to continue this smooth journey in the industry and lose our “day jobs.”

What are some things artists need to be careful of?
The biggest thing artists need to be careful of is losing who they are in their music.  The “you” factor plays a big role in our opinions as we want our own style and our own vibe in our music.  Other than that, just make sure you’re putting your music in the right hands to help you succeed.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
As we say in one of our songs, Warming Up, “determinations key, confidence is next to it, motivation three…”.  As important, don’t let the fans forget about you.  So, try to get music out as often as possible.

What are the best ways to sell your products as an artist?
Nowadays the internet makes it so easy to sell your products.  However, we have enjoyed hand delivering T-shirts to our fans for the interaction and look forward to doing that when our EP is released.

What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
CROWNandASANTE love promoting their music through live performances for fans, family and friends.
