Exclusive Interview

Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
I’ve been all over southern California from Northridge to Long Beach to Fontana. I’m currently living in Costa Mesa California. It was a long road to the decision to get into music. It started with my cousin, D.C. The Prince. He started rapping and I just started writing just for fun. I’d jump into cyphers here and there and after a couple years I realized that this is me! So instead of listening to the bullshit on the radio I decided to take it for myself.

Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
My latest single is called B.Y.N.H.O. It stands for The Best You Never Heard Of, plain and simple. It’s a song where I just shit on every verse.

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
Man the hardest challenge is breaking into the industry, getting your name out there, and pulling a strong following is tough especially doing everything independently.

What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
It would definitely be the time I moved to Fontana. I was under major financial issues and I had no leads to finding decent places to record and finding shows. It was rough but I knew if I kept my head up and kept digging and striving for my goals I’d get back on my feet.

What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Be careful of these two faced niggas that make empty promises. Don’t rush into a shitty deal just for the money, be patient. The Eiffel Tower wasn’t built in a day and success doesn’t come overnight.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Don’t give up man. It’s hard holding on to your dreams when you’re on your own. Plenty of these artists today only are where they are because they knew the right people but it’s not impossible. So keep grinding.

What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
Right now my main source is my Facebook and my soundcloud and www.theurbnlife.com.
