WWS : How did you come up with the name ?
C22C : We felt our brand represented a perfect mix between the everyday 9-5 person that hustles a job on a daily basis and the 24-7 hustler that uses clothing as a form of self expression that they may not be able to maximize in the typical corporate work environment. So it was important for us to brand a name that represented that “Catch 22″ situation. Thus, the name was created.
WWS : Description of clothing line ?
C22C : We are an urban sophisticated clothing brand, ranging from fashionable eyewear to tees, hoodies, & jackets.
WWS : Who are your influences ?
C22C : Life influences the essence of our brand the most, because it represents the lifestyles of individuals who wear our gear.
WWS : What sets your brand different from others ?
C22C : Catch 22 is tailored to each person who rocks our gear. So its meaning is different for everyone . We have graphic tees and print concepts for individuals from all walks of life , hustles, & cultures. So in essence, it provides people with a unique, personal avenue for them to express themselves.
WWS : Are there any challenges you run into while running a business ?
C22C : Yes! During our original soft launch in 2006, our biggest challenge was the fact that we simply grew faster then expected. Our demand was greater than our supply at the time, which would seem like a good thing, however we want to provide product for ALL of our customers. So now, we have streamlined processes, secured additional vendors, and developed a marketing strategy to best overcome the hurdles & lessons of the past and proceed forward as the powerful brand that is Catch 22.
WWS : Any plans for the future with your clothing line ?
C22C : Plenty. We plan to have a few stand-alone stores in a few of the major fashion markets across the US, such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco. Our long term goal is for Catch 22 Clothing to be a household name in the fashion & entertainment industries.
