How did you come up with the name?
Dance Party Massacre is inspired by old cheesy slasher movies of the 80′s like Slumber Party Massacre and Sorority House Massacre. That combination of fun and scary always intrigued me and it’s the basis of the art direction behind the line. The name just formed naturally as the idea for the brand came to be.

Description of clothing line?
Dance Party Massacre is a graphic clothing line based out of Boston, MA. Drawing inspiration from film, music, pop culture, and nightlife. It’s a youthful brand with an independent spirit. DPM is conceptually-driven with the main focus based upon horror elements and juxtaposing them with a fun edge.

Who or what are your influences?
Horror movies, pop culture, college nightlife, high school mischievousness, partying with your friends, causing trouble, having fun, living before you die, evil vs. good, evil being good, living life as a horror movie.

What sets your brand different from others?
There may be other lines inspired by horror and the iconic imagery that comes with it, but Dance Party Massacre is as much as about fun as it is horror. It has a very youthful, pop feel to it that isn’t trying to be morbid, but instead is using horror themes as a reminder to live life while you can.

Are there any challenges you run into while running a business?
Of course! The biggest challenge is just getting it out there to people. So much competition out there and so many other things occupying our minds today, to actually get someone to stop for 30 seconds and check out our stuff is a battle.

Any plans for the future with your clothing line?
Keep creating product and designs true to the brand, continue to expand beyond t-shirts and sweatshirts, and also get into a lot more brick and mortar stores.
