How did you come up with the name?
My love for poetry. I have been writing since the age of 11 years old and my words are depicted from the soul. My clothing line represents my form of poetry in motion.
Description of clothing line?
The clothing line consists of men and women ready-to-wear garments and swim wear. Our clothing line is for the sexy, sultry individual who can wear our garments in the day or evening and still bring the sexy and classy to whatever touches their skin.
Who or what are your influences?
Roberto Cavalli is a huge influence on me along with Zach Posen, but most of all Alexander McQueen because he always went above and beyond your expectations and never once cared if you liked it; he did what was appealing to him.
What sets your brand different from others?
Our brand is different from others because I design based on my models. I study them, personalities, and overall their forms. Each of my pieces represent a model I have worked with or am currently working with. If they are supposed to sell the garments I make why not make them based off of them? Works every time.
Are there any challenges you run into while running a business?
There are a lot of challenges! One we are facing right now is getting investors. It’s hard to market yourself to the right people when you can not find them. We also get people who do not agree with our work or work ethics and this is normal so we take them as they come, but we refuse to allow that to hinder or slow down our brand.
Any plans for the future with your clothing line?
We are in the process of signing some contracts with buyers in NY to start putting our line in their stores. We hope to be able to do the same in our home town in ATL and on to other states. We also plan to open our showroom by this time next year in 2013.
