How did you come up with the name ?
– It is actually short for Subliminal Environment. I didn’t want to have a long multiple word name so I shortened it and came to Subeco.

Description of clothing line ?
– Subeco is an environmentally conscious line of organic cotton tees and accessories. With unique graphics and soft comfy fitting apparel that makes it easy to go green!

Who are your influences ?
– My influences for ideas come from everyday experiences. For example, the Clean Up California design was done after driving on a freeway and seeing trash covering the sides of the freeway made me want to voice my opinion through art on a shirt.

What sets your brand different from others ?
– Well one of the reasons why I started Subeco was because I was sick of seeing so called “eco-friendly” clothing lines that just slap a tree or plant on a tee and sell it for $75. Just because a shirt is organic doesn’t mean it needs to be $75! Subeco products are often less expensive then most brands out there that I have been seeing. Also, unlike most brands who have several people doing all the parts involved in running a brand it is just me doing almost everything. Subeco is a one man company! When you email info@wearsubeco.com you are talking to me, when you order a shirt I fill the order. The only thing I don’t do is the actual designing. Even though I do draw out ideas I have and send them out to my designers.

Are there any challenges you run into while running a business ?
– As mentioned above running a company by yourself can be tough. Managing all aspects of the company can be draining. The legal aspects of starting a business in California are a pain in general. Keeping up on taxes, insurances, and just knowing how much money you can spend after doing the bills every month. Other then that its smooth sailing!

Any plans for the future with your clothing line ?
– Absolutely! If everything I have in mind happens then some really big things are going to be happening and real soon!
