How did you come up with the name?
I wanted to create a name that I felt was different, something that no one had ever really heard of. When I reached an ultimatum to call my brand KIDZLIVINGTHELIFE, I decided to abbreviate the name to KLxTL and thats where my brand’s official name originated from.
Description of clothing line?
KLxTL isn’t just a clothing line, its a call to live an edgy, bold, and fun lifestyle. Our products help our buyers and followers evoke their self-expression and love for fashion. We take fashion to a completely different dimension; as we are inspired by a diverse set of things. All of the sunglasses and rings sold in our store are exclusively handmade, and have been worn by talented music artists, DJs, models & other wonderful individuals.
Who or what are your influences?
We are inspired by an array set of ideas, but we are primarily influenced by fashion, art, music, various lifestyles, & eclecticity.
What sets your brand different from others?
From so many brands out there, what sets KLxTL different from others is that we don’t tend to follow norms nor do we center ourselves within a specific concept. We do things different. Our brand entails a wide range of aspects from provocative and fun messages to eccentric ideas.
Are there any challenges you run into while running a business?
I think one of the biggest challenges, is getting your name out there. There are hundreds of brands everywhere, and of course its difficult to get recognized at first. But if you come into such industry with a motivational mentality, it’s much more easier to overcome your obstacles. And lets not forget critics! there’s always going to be those that love what you do and those that hate it, but that’s all part of having a motivational and open mentality to work harder.
Any plans for the future with your clothing line?
Lots of them! We are currently working on a sunglasses collaboration with a cyberpunk vintage store from Miami so stay tuned for that! and other collaborations with other clothing brands such as, YKMS. We will most likely start having our products sold in a boutique in Atlanta, and definitely planning on expanding to other cities and countries.
