Check out the new song from Fede4real – Jazzylicious
Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
My father is from Equatorial Guinea and my mother is from Spain. I have lived in both
countries. My father was a jazz and blues guitarist in his young days so it is no wonder
I ended being a musician. I started playing piano at the age of 6 years old and had my
first TV performance at 11. I got here with a lot of work, today my music is listened in
different corners of the world and I thank God my family and dear friends for that.
What are you currently working on and what can we expect to see?
I am currently working on music videos of my new album Jazzylicious . I am also
looking for managers booking agents and venues everywhere to schedule my 2011
summer tour. I can’t wait to perform in the US again!. And of course I am writing
beautiful music and studying music. I am always creating.
What is one of the most drastic changes you’ve made about yourself in the last
year?
Last year I decided to come back to modeling, I had took a brake while putting my
music career together for a couple years. I just shot a campaign with Diesel and I am so
happy to be back to the fashion world
Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
I think one of the hardest challenges is getting the right representation.
What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce
back?
These days being an artist is just fashionable most people don’t care about quality
of music, creative process or the spiritual side to it. It is frustrating sometimes to be
perceived as just another “wannabe famous”, another fish in the ocean. God has a plan
for me and I just follow it he gives me the strength and inspiration to stand up and keep
walking.
What are some things artists need to be careful of?
I think they should be careful not to forget the ultimate reason for making music. That is
love it yourself and bring something positive to anybody listening to it, in my opinion. It
is very easy to loose focus.
What would you spend a million dollars on?
I would build a wonderful studio in a quiet village, and a small ranch for my mother.
She is always watching western movies lol
What was your biggest risk taken in your career?
My first tour in NYC in 2009 I booked some shows by myself and took a plane from
Madrid with my keyboard without knowing how was going to be. I had doubts my
music and my accent would be accepted. It was risky but great the feedback was
wonderful and I learned a lot on a personal and artistic way.
What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
To create, if you have a gift don’t waist your time sitting in the sofa. Share it with the
world, art brings light to the world
What are the best ways to sell your products as an artist?
I’m always trying to find ways but I focus more on create great music. I spend more
hours playing keys than on the computer, at the end we only have 24h. To me music
comes first. Good music opens doors
What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
I would say live music, it can be a performance or a youtube home video. If you
want to set yourself from the mass live performing is what brings your essence to the
public. The bond between performer and audience lasts longer than any music video,
sometimes you remember it for a lifetime.
Any last comments or statements?
Yes I just want to thank everybody supporting my music, DJ’s magazines, my dear fans
supporting since day one. Also managers agents venues holl@ your boy at my website
www.fede4real.com . I am in facebook twitter…everywhere! Strictly live jazz neo-soul
funky tunes. God bless you. Thanks WWS you are the tightest magazine around.
