Exclusive Interview
Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
I’m from Montclair,New Jersey. It’s a pretty quiet place. It’s just a small town where everyone seems to know each other. I only lived there for a brief moment in my childhood though. I really got into rapping when I lived in Florida. I wasn’t exactly taking it serious as I take it now. I would just freestyle over beats with my friends after an occasional smoke session. It really wasn’t anything serious at all. I ended up leaving Florida due to all the drama I was getting involved in. I just had to escape that black hole they call “Orlando.” I currently live in Philadelphia where I attend school and work. That’s pretty much where I stand right now. Oh and course I’m doing music (laughs), you probably already guessed that though. That pretty much sums up the position I’m in … Pause (laughs).
Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
The song I’m giving you guys is titled “Serious.” It’s pretty crazy. It’s full of bars, metaphors, flow, and of course a crazy beat. It’s the 1st song I officially put out online. I knew I had to prove myself because it would be the 1st impression I was making. I usually have catchy hooks and melodies along with bars but on this song it’s nothing but insane verses. It’s simply undeniable heat. You hear it and your just like “wow!”
Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
I don’t view anything as hard or difficult because I love what I’m doing. I do view certain situations as a test or a lesson but that’s pretty much it. Once you tell yourself something is difficult, it’s going to be more difficult than it actually has to be because you’ve instilled that thought in your head. Just try to see the good in every situation and it will make everything much easier.
What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
In my mind set backs don’t exist. A set back isn’t really a set back if you acquire some new knowledge from it. In fact it’s actually a boost forward.
What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Every person has their own weakness. So each individual should already know what they should watch out for. Just listen to your gut feeling because it’s always right. People tend to fight their gut feeling because it often disagrees with what they think they want.
What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Believe in yourself. Don’t let anybody or any situation get you down. You can do everything you put your mind to. Look up the “Power of Positive Thinking” and y’all should be good from there.
What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
The internet is the best promotional tool. Youtube and blog sites are the best way to go.
