Exclusive Interview

Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
To be honest with you I’m from everywhere. I believe that I’m one with the people, the Earth, its atmosphere, and the stars in space. That’s why I can connect to people from all nations and of any color. I try not to let one region define me as an artist, but to ask me what city do I rep, the answer is East Atlanta zone 6. How I got to this position was just by finally listening to what the people in my life always told me I was good at, which was rap. Music just comes natural to me. #GetWitTheMovement

Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
The current single I’m pushing is called O’f**kincassion. It’s already doing numbers with several downloads and was also premiered on radio. It basically gives insight to some of the emotions that I feel when I’m under the influence. The first two verses tell a story about how you can sometimes depend on the highs from drugs to kill the lows of reality.

The last verse gives a more sober outlook on life, seeing reality for what it really is and the hard work it takes to get to where you desire to be. There are featured vocals on the song by upcoming singer Whiylli Palomino. Also the track was produced by in-house producer Brotha Dahknesz. Both are a part of my team UnderGround Royalty. #GetWitTheMovement

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
One of the hardest challenges I have dealt with in the past was trying to develop a new sound and image that masses would agree with without compromising my form of art and personal style. At first I thought it would be a task, but as I started to look into it more I started to see that it’s all about understanding your audience and understanding your competition, from there all you have to do is bring something new to the table. So far I believe I’ve done a great job in giving people music they can relate to without sacrificing my style of art and fashion. #GetWitTheMovement

What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
I remember an incident not too long ago where everyone was expecting a new single from me because I had announced I would drop a new single for my University’s Homecoming events. However, that did not happen because the minute I finished recording the song all my audio files got deleted. This was a very frustrating moment for me and my career because it was so abrupt. Also because I am an artist that believes timing is everything so it was definitely a setback for me but it just made me work harder in the future. #GetWitTheMovement

What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Me and my team UnderGround Royalty. #GetWitTheMovement

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
I would suggest never sitting around and waiting for a label to recognize you. Be proactive, learn how to market yourself like a label would. You have to understand that everything in this world is business, so if you’re really trying to make money off of your music you have to treat it like a business. It takes money to make money. Basically learn how to be your own label before you decide to sign to a label because nobody else can see your vision better than you can. #GetWitTheMovement

What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
I like to promote myself a lot through Twitter. Twitter allows me to post links to my songs and pictures of my cover art. I draw and design all my cover art. I draw them of course to show off my artistic ability, but I also try to make that one image reflect the whole theme of the song. I also do a lot of my promoting on Reverbnation. They provide all types of tools and gigs for me to get more exposure. I’m also featured on a couple of blogs. #GetWitTheMovement

Where can people visit you?
They can visit me virtually through Twitter, follow me @_KingBrad. Also all my music and interviews are on my Reverb page: www.reverbnation.com/kingbrad. If you have Instagram follow me on that too: @kingschwag. Like, comment, and subscribe to my YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/bradifeobu.

As far as physically visiting me, you can find me in the Eastside of my city. #GetWitTheMovement
