Exclusive Interview

Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
I’m originally from the south side of Chicago, but moms didn’t like the city so she moved us to the south burbs. Man, it’s simple. I love making music. So when it hit me that I could make a living off of it, that was all I needed to fully pursue my dreams.

Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
R.I.C.H. II is the sequel to my song R.I.C.H., which is titled after my latest release. It is based on the positives of realizing you can achieve something. Being able to envision that world, even when others can’t.

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
Man, the hardest challenge was finding producers! Whether it was finding one with the sound I was looking for, or finding one with reasonable prices. I had that problem for years. But it’s all good now on that end.

What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
Aside from producers, anything that led to me leaning on someone else to get something done ended badly. But I took the set backs as life lessons and became more self-sufficient. If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself, ya know?

What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Putting your future in another person’s hands. Always keep your hands on the wheel. You don’t want to risk giving someone the power to steer you off a cliff.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Do what you love and learn the business behind it because if you don’t have a strong passion for it or know the business end of things, it won’t last.

What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
I don’t have a favorite, I just do it all. Whether it’s face-to-face or digital, as long as it brings in new listeners its all progression.

Where can people visit you?
