Exclusive Interview

Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
I’m originally from East New York but, now reside in Phoenix AZ. Before I moved to AZ I lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Atlanta, and Tampa Florida. I stepped down in AZ about 6 years ago and had to start from ground zero, finding the right people and studios was hard. At first I had to get out there and put in work. I am a very persistent person and my persistence put me in a position where I can flourish.

Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
The song is basically talking about me making a transition from being a street banger to an artist. Working harder than your average to get where I need to be in the industry. Dealing with snakes and haters comes with the territory. Overcoming all of the hurdles because I am set in my ways, making it my own movement. Also letting people know I am here, I am staying, and I am not going anywhere.

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
Getting people on the same page as me, finding connections to allow me opportunities for open slots, and finding venues to rock out! I face a lot of these problems, but I keep pushing on through. I try not to let it set me back, I just keep going until I get those goals accomplished.

What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
The biggest set back for me was when I wasn’t putting enough time in the studio. While I was hustling in the street, money was coming so fast I was not thinking about sitting around in the studio listening to beats or writing lyrics. I’m losing money if I do that, I’m battling other hustlers on the corner. I have to jot down pieces of lyrics on a napkin from a fast food restaurant all while going through beats in my head. When I was making dirty money their was not even a thought in my mind of change, change is what I wanted so I started spending more time in the studio. The streets is in me, in my blood and what I learned from it is how to express my life through my music.

What are some things artists need to be careful of?
The snakes around you! The cats that say what they can do for you, who only have broken promises. Stick to the n***** that you came in the game with and the others are just irrelevant. Be sure to make the best decisions, that are good for you and your crew.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Stay focused on what you need do for your music. Work hard and don’t let anything or anyone lead you astray. Then you will start to see the results from all your hard work.

What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
I like to interact with people so doing shows gives me the opportunity to share my energy with the crowd. I can channel my music through my energy. I love to promote my music and myself through my energy!
