Exclusive Interview

Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
I’m from Colorado springs, Colorado representing for life. It’s been a journey getting to where I’m at with the music now. I’m still real underground, no one knows me and if it stays that way it doesn’t matter; no matter what I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. This music has been a huge way to vent my problems and thoughts, positive to negative. That’s how it all started pretty much from all that anger built up I had to release it the best I could which has helped me and it’s become easier over time.

Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
The song “Pluto.” I like to be diverse and this song truly gave me the chance to drop a little bit of knowledge on some issues I’ve analyzed and really let me utilize my flow. “Pluto a planet that’s near perpetual darkness, or maybe its US needing the light before OURS is.”

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
I’d say getting involved with the industry in general has been hard. I do everything myself editing, lyrics, mixing, marketing, everything, and I certainly don’t have a degree in any of the above.

What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
My career’s just beginning, but I’ve had some dark times in the past 7 years where I couldn’t find the motivation to keep going even just recently. It’s tough sometimes sitting there alone with a mic, paper, and pencil in a negative situation, so I’ve had to change my mentality; make the negative positive through the Lord.

What are some things artists need to be careful of?
I don’t think I have much of a say when it comes to this. I guess be careful when it comes to following your heart, don’t lose track of what your heart wants in the music.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
I have no suggestions if your writing music and doing your own thing. Who am I to judge and suggest anything, it’s all you, stay true to you.

What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
Facebook, Reverbnation. I need to get better at this whole promoting thing though I’m not to good at hyping myself up. I’m not trying to lie to anybody to get plays they like it, they like it, they don’t, they don’t.
