Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today?
I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. I moved to Delaware County in the 90′s. My right hand man, Psypha, was always rapping and battling any and everyone. He didn’t have a producer though. So, I got a keyboard and a few programs, and have been making hits ever since. I started rapping shortly thereafter and haven’t looked back .
What are you currently working on and what can we expect to see?
I am currently working on releasing my debut mixtape entitled “Stay Tuned Vol. 1.” Fans can expect to hear a well diversed, fun, original sounding mixtape. I wanted to show the fans I’m not only a producer, but I am also a lyricist.
Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
One of the hardest challenges I had to face was being accepted. It’s hard for a producer to get recognition for being a artist too. Everyone expects me to stay in one lane. They will soon realize– I make my own lane!!
What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
My biggest set back was also my biggest bounce back. I’ve always had music in the crates but I never put it out. In a way, that was a set back because I could have already been doing major things years ago, but I feel the time allowed me to develop into the artist I am today. In retrospect, it was good that I didn’t put my music out and waited until I felt ready to take on the world. I went through many styles trying to find my niche. These past years were the “finding myself stage”. Now that I know who I am musically, I am prepared to enter the music world as a professional, and eager to evolve into something even better.
What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Artist need to be careful of the snakes and vultures that will ruin them if they let them. Keep your circle tight and in check. Only allow positive people around you, and you shall succeed. Quality, not quantity.
What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
There are no other artist like me. I am one of a kind. Everyone needs to do their own thing. Be original. Stop following blueprints and make your own.
What are the best ways to sell your products as an artist?
Being heard. The more access you have to the fans, the more you will sell. Internet buzz is probably the easiest way to get the most exposure but good old hard work and constant grinding gets the job done also. If used correctly an artist can be a household name.
What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
Internet and word of mouth. Music speaks for itself. All you have to do is be heard.
