Check out the new song from Ver$e Muney – 2Chainz
Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
I’m from a small city called Bad Newz, Virginia basically known as Newport News, Virginia. It’s a heavy crime area and it’s full of young talented people who wanna get out, but they are either scared or don’t know how to get their dreams out, so I represent them! I got to where I am from consistency and ambition. Heavy prayer and heavy grinding, listening more n’ talkin’ less.
Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
My current single is called “2Chainz.” It’s basically a track I got from the homie 5STAR and it gave me a 2chains vibe so I created a song kinda like he would have in my opinion and I called it 2chains to let people know that’s what influenced the song.
Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
Dealing with people who try to sale you a dream or make a bunch of promises to you they know that they can’t keep. It’s really just about them wanting to be a part of what you have going on. So having to separate the real from the fake is always a challenge.
What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
One of my biggest set backs was when my OG Brian Couch aka “Bee” got locked up. He was/is like a mentor to me and he was the first one to show interest in my music skill enough to help me build a movement. When he got locked up it was a major set back, but with the help from my fam and my team TTG I was able to re-establish all the things we built before he got knocked; so on we roll.. Free my homie Bee!
What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Be careful of imitators and people that will pretend like they are for you and your movement, but are really against you. Be careful of the people who will try to help you for the wrong reasons and definitely be aware of the shady record deals/contracts. Don’t sign your life away for less then you are worth!
What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
I suggest that you be yourself, stay true to what’s in your heart, and follow ya dreams. Set goals and stick to ‘em! Don’t be afraid to take risk! No one will give you anything, you have to go take it!
What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
Social networking is the best outlet for me!
