Exclusive Interview

Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
I’m from Chicago IL and I got to the position I am at today by grinding and being determined to make it. Any event or venue I can perform at I’m there, any opportunity to be heard I take advantage of.

Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
I’m currently promoting my new single called Pop’d B***ch. It’s a street anthem and it’s giving the world a taste of Chicago slang and what we call “drill musik.”

What are you currently working on and what can we expect to see?
You can expect to see a combination of real lyricism that you would get from hip hop heads with hard beats you would expect from southern producers. I’m currently working on a lot of different things. I will be featured in Octobers issue of the XXL Magazine

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
The hardest thing I have faced in the industry is dealing with the changes as far as what labels are looking for now a days. An artist is no longer signed based on talent. You have to have a brand and your fan base before they give you the time of day and it takes a lot to do those things on your own.

What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
One of the biggest setbacks in my career was when I was seventeen. I signed with a local label in Chicago, I recorded an album, shot a video, and I thought I was on my way, but the label didn’t promote it. Then the label shut down and I basically had to start all over again. I left the situation with nothing, but I have had to start over several times and each time I bounce back I go harder and accomplish more than I did previously.

What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Artists need to be careful of the people they surround themselves with and whom they allow in their circle because some people hang around just to hold you back and some people are around to benefit themselves because they see that you’re going places. Make sure you have people who are 100 in your corner who have your best interest at heart.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
I would suggest any artist like me to be themselves and not let anyone change you. Be in control of your own career and the music that’s suppose to represent you.

What are the best ways to sell your products as an artist?
The best way to sell my product as an artist is having my own brand that sells itself I love promoting my music through shows. I love being able to move a crowd. I feel like live shows are the best way for people to see who you are. I think that’s when your super stardom comes out and people want more so then they go to your websites and videos that you may have out.
